Kings Para-Transit (KPT) is no longer charging ‘Attendant Fare’ for Wheelchair Clients

Kentville, NS, May 19, 2009:  Effective immediately, KPT’s wheelchair clients are no longer required to pay an attendants’ fare. As well, other KPT clients with disabilities requiring attendants can also be eligible for free attendants’ fare with a doctor’s certificate.

The Vice Chair of the KPT’s Board of Directors, Ian Kroezen says: “Kings Para-Transit continues to adapt to the needs of our clients in Kings County. With the recent elimination of attendants’ fares, KPT is showing its responsiveness to client needs.”

Kings Para-Transit (KPT) receives NS Co-operative Employment Program Funding to hire a Summer Student to Assist in KPT’s Marketing Initiative

 
 

Kentville, NS, May 19, 2009:  KPT is pleased to announce its receipt of funding from the Nova Scotia Economic and Rural Development Co-operative Employment Program for the first time. This funding permits KPT to hire a marketing student who will drive KPT’s marketing efforts.

This grant has allowed KPT to move up to a new business level. The marketing student will be creating and implementing a marketing plan for KPT. This marketing plan will generate awareness as well as set a direction for KPT’s marketing efforts for the next two years.

Deepashri Pushkarna of Kentville was hired through the Co-operative Education program at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS. Pushkarna is a third year Business Administration student who is currently working towards her degree in Marketing. Pushkarna will be working with KPT for a four-month work term from May - August 2009.

KINGS PARA-TRANSIT (KPT) ANNOUNCES CHANGE IN FARES

Kentville, Nova Scotia, June 1st, 2009. Effective immediately, due to rising costs, KPT has adjusted all fares to ensure that their essential services can continue to operate. Despite these increasing costs, KPT continues to operate as efficiently as possible. Like the other community-based transit organizations in the province, KPT had to adjust fare costs.

These fares are reviewed quarterly and set as low as possible, while ensuring continued viability of the service. KPT introduced a number of new price breaks to make the rates more affordable. Please call our office for a full listing of our latest rates.
